Hayley

I was listening to the song "Airplanes" playing on the radio, and I thought it's pretty catchy so I decided to draw some faces(which I hadn't done for a while now). I picked the subject because she's got lots of interesting expression, and her hair colors is just fun to play with =) I only used pen markers over pencil sketches this time round to save some time. The effect is some what a mixture of portrait and illustration which I kinda like ^^

Thank you all for your kind comments on my Soft Pals sketch, and for following my blog. I apologize for the error I made while setting up the blog which didn't show any updates for the longest time. But that's fixed now so I hope it works fine.

  4. Love it!!! I really like the different looks on her face (my fav is the one of her chewing her shirt) and I like it that you kept it down to only few colours and rest still in pencil. Well done, really well done.

  27. Wow! What can I say? I LOVE everything in this picture! How you perfectly drew her, then how you added colors, but most of all I love how you knew when to stop! You found the right balance between colored and non colored areas. So powerful! And believe me, this few sentences took me about 15 minutes to write (because of my very limited knowledge of English), but I had to tell you this. :)

  28. What caught my eye, in addition to what others have commented on, were the shadows of the hair on the face and subtle shading around the facial features. Almost 3-D! Wow
