Final : Family

Being absent for such a long period of time again, and finally having my real 7-days off from work(and needing to pack to move to another apartment by the end of the month), suddenly I got the call from the publisher to finish all artwork of the ones I drew earlier on Concept Lines, Concept : Family, and Concept : Cover art posts. Not to mention I got another call from work to ask if I could work on Monday and Tuesday which would ruin my plans days off, so I kindly rejected.

I had to re-draw all of those that I've sketched in concept form, and onto bigger scale, but with a little less details, no colors :( and due to time constraint I had decided to go a little towards Manga style, and it's funny how I usually draw people in cartoon style when I draw without reference anyway.

Actual hours  on art : Approx. 12-13 hours.
Day and time started : July 9th, 10am
Day and time finished : July 10th, 9pm
Other activities within the period: Eat, naps, playing Call of Duty Black Ops and Plant vs. Zombies, Korean movies on Netflix, shower, sleep etc.

Thank you all for reading and appreciate all the comments =)

  2. That is an amazing amount of work completed for 12-13 hours! They look great - I think my favorite is the one with the tent.

Sorry to hear you're packing up and moving - that is no fun at all. Hopefully you get settled quickly.

  5. Great drawings. Very productive - I honestly doubt I would have been able to do all of that in such a short time! My favorite pictures - I know how hard it was to draw the people, but my favorite is the dog and teddy bear looking wistfully down the lane! My other favorite is the last picture of the happy child. Wonderful work. Congratulations for this wonderful work that deserves to be published, for sure.

  7. Wow Alex, I would have panicked with all that going on! Your illustrations are really good, the style suits the concept well.
My favourite is the tent too, memories of my childhood I think.
    Auguri for your new home!

  8. Ooh, these are just fabulous. I'm in awe of your talent. I must be truely sentimental, 'cause I love the one where the dog and bear are sitting in the door opening looking out on the path.

  10. Glad that you were able to focus on such a big project. The publisher should be pleased. I agree with Dan about the teddy bear/dog picture. It says a lot without a word written. Good luck with the move.

  16. Great illustrations Alex! I know you're probably relieved to have them finished! Moving again? Isn't that twice now in one year? Well, if you can draw a bit here and there, we'd all love it!

  17. I could never get so much done in that time frame even if I already knew what I was going to draw! I have to admit my favorite is the animals waiting for everyone to come home. I love my kids and grandkids so much but animals don't understand we will be back soon as children can. Being a grandma now, I really enjoy the family moving into that stage in your pics.
