Estela & Reese

Yet another portrait to be given away to one of the grandmothers of these two beautiful girls. I have not drawn kids for a while now, and I really like drawing kids so I was really happy when I received the project. Things have been going really slow with the publisher, but it's okay because it gives me more time to work on personal favors like this one. Next up is another portrait. Thank you all for stopping by and your kind comments and encouragements =) I am adding the steps again on this one for those who are interested in doing portraits.
(Update! They loved it! And she's making prints to those who are related^^, I am so pleased!)

  19. Alex, Thank you for the detailed explanation you left on my blog.

I am using more or less the same technique as you do, but you have a much better eye hand coordination, an excellent one. And your proportions and shading are always good.
I found too easier when my ref. photo is on the side than from the computer, I understand why the easel was developed and the model posing at the same level than the canvas, having the eye going very fast from model to canvas.
Thank you again for your your answer.

  21. Alex.. I am wondering how come the updates in your blog don't get reflected in my blog's 'Favorite' section.. I have set that up to show me the list with the blogs that have something new to show up on top.. but somehow your blog never shows up.. Any settings that you have made on this one..?
