Plants Vs. Zombies

I have to admit, I love video games. I wish I have more times playing them, but they do occupy a lot of time, almost like watching movies and very often requires a lot more concentration and good hand-eye co-ordination.
I was at first a little skeptical about this Plants Vs. Zombies game(available in all game consoles, computers, and smartphones) that it's just a simple game with simple designs, simple musics, simple structures, simple objectives, and simple graphics, made by perhaps people with simple minds. And boy was I so wrong =) It is the simplicity of the game that helped me to remember why I like video games in the first place, to have fun and forget about stress in life for just a moment of course.
I've probably spent more than 50 hours playing this game since I got it, defending my home against brain craving zombies using my plants, and I can't remember not laughing or giggling everytime I play it. It's the same feeling I get when I watch cartoons(and yes I love cartoons too, and I think the cartoonists are the most creative people in the world because they make people laugh).
So all I am saying is that, people behind Plants Vs. Zombies are not simple minded at all, but really creative and fun people. Perhaps that's why Electronic Arts (or EA, video game giant company) plans to acquire Popcap(the company behind Plants Vs. Zombies, and games like Bejewelled) for the rumored amount of USD1.3 billion, pretty impressive right?

Thank you all so much for your comments. I felt sorry for my Moleskine sketchbook as I've neglected it for a while now(again). It's hard to be consistent nowadays with the 12-hour shift job, and the packing to move by the end of the month. Yes we're moving AGAIN =) but hopefully for the last time in at least 2-3 years. Appreciate all the wishes, and I shall be posting again when I have the time to do so right after settling down.

    Well I hope you become my next door neighbor. Love your drawing - the whole idea is a riot! And your drawing is so funny - love that zombie! My son is almost an engineer - what is it with you guys?! I would tell him about it, but then he'd play 50+ ours. Of course he already knows, I'm sure, and probably already has. :)

    Love your drawing. I'll have to look into getting this game for my next month's MSN game as I signed up to buy 6 and I have no idea beyond the 2 I already have which one to get. This sounds like fun if you are laughing through it and drawing it too!! Games do suck up the time I have found. I feel guilty every time I play rather than doing something useful!

    You are going to become an expert at moving and it will get easier. I have moved so many times I have lost count so I know you develop a rhythm to how to do it efficiently and with less and less stress. I do hope you get to stay put for a while though as it really isn't fun to move so often.

    I'm not really interseted in video games (my youngest, 30 year old son IS !!)but your sketches definitely made me laugh !! Your plants are great!

    Lovely sketch! I know this game because my seven year old grandson loves it - seems that it is enjoyed by all ages!

I relly like your blog and your drawings- I draw too and am also self taught. Don't worry about getting a DSLR right away. I started with a point and shoot I got refurbished on e-bay and worked up to a bridge camera as I got better.     Finally cathing up to everyonce posts, and boy can I tell Im far behind.... And Im also behind the whole issue of games, see Im still at the board game face. My son is to all those games and showed him the picture you drew and he of course right way said "Hmmmm, I think I have to look that game up"

    Oh boy, I will never get him out of our basement, lol.

    Love the drawing Alex and I have to say I love the green squash dude, he is just amazing and I wish I had him in my garden... Protect my cucumbers and beans from the rabbit family that lives under our shed.

    If it's zombies, I will surely love it!!

    I look at moving like a 3D Tetris challenge. My goal is to get everything into the smallest possible truck and move houses in the least amount of time. Good luck with it all!
