I bought a few charcoal pencils and chalk, thought that I would want to try them out. But I wanted to draw another Video Game hero, who is more recognizable, and I thought he'd look more lively with colors somehow...
So itsa Mario! =) I realize that a lot of people didn't know who Ryu was in the last post, so I think this one should have no problem. He's done with some office highlighters, and basic colored markers, and I manage to use those charcoal and chalk on his gloves, and what I discovered too is that chalk works pretty well on markers ^^ Thank you all for your comments and for visiting.
I love this piece! You really captured the fun I always equate with the game. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Luigi would be envious.
ReplyDeleteEXCELLENT!! Such a handsome fellow!!
ReplyDeleteMama Mia!! My younger son would be excited - excellent drawing!
ReplyDeleteI hope the waiting ends soon...
Very nice, colorful drawing. My oldest grandchild was Mario at Halloween last year so I DO know who this is.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I love it! (I guess you already knew that. :D ) Computer games are a girls best friend... or something like that! (Well, I do need an obsession if I don't care about shoes, don't I?).
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much depth you create just with some regular markers! Sweet!
Do you think you're gonna further expand your games heroes gallery? :)
PS: I did recognize Ryu at once! You got him very well!
He came out fabulous. Definitely more recognizable. You made my sons day when I opened your page. He wanted me to tell you, "He did great."
ReplyDeleteNow this is a character that I recognize! And it is so well done!
ReplyDeleteHope your wait ends soon! I recently ordered some schminke paints. Actually, on July 22nd. I got them YESTERDAY! The lady didn't even mail them until I complained in an email about it taking so long! What is worse is that every time I order supplies I practically stop all production until the new stuff arrives! I don't know why I do that but it made this time feel like forever!
Ha! The first computor game my kids ever had..everytime I hear the music it takes me back. You've really captured Mario!
ReplyDeleteThrow yourself into your art and think positive, time will pass quickly you'll see!
FORT LAUDERDALE??!!! E-mail me if you are coming down here for an interview and we will definitely get together!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't really like this type of art, I think your technical handling of the subject is superb.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.
..really like the colours and the champignons! =]

ReplyDeleteToo much fun! Interesting to know that you mixed highlighters, markers and chalk. Mario never looked so good! And, I liked playing Mario Brothers.
ReplyDeleteLove it but where's Yoshi?
ReplyDeleteWow, this one is cool! Great bright colors and style! The Ryu drawing is great too (loved that you precised "not an addict" when saying you loved video games ; ) !)
